Unlearn something today

Unlearn something today.

You’ve learned a lot professionally. And that information has served you well for quite awhile!

Here‘s why you need to unlearn some stuff.

When you started in your industry, you learned fundamentals and some core ideas.

Over time, you also learned other people’s beliefs:

  • your first few companies’ processes and beliefs

  • your supervisors' viewpoint

  • your business partner’s outlook

Those beliefs, viewpoints and outlooks are rooted in their experiences and knowledge. Of course, It’s wise to learn from others. It saves you time and energy.

It’s also wise to let go of information that no longer serves you.

It helps to continuously learn from others.

Here how to continuously learn from others:

Connect with someone who can challenge your thinking.

It could be someone with a completely different experience as you.

If you’ve been working for 20 years, chat with someone who’s been working for 2.

  • The goal is not to agree or debate. It’s to listen and expand your mind.

Try it this week. And, if you do it already - keep it up!
