How to get better ideas

The quality of ideas sometimes starts with a numbers game: the more ideas you can get out of people’s heads the more ingredients you have for the good (and even great) ideas. 

Here’s how to get better ideas: 

get better at brainstorming.

Imagine you’re doing improv during your brainstorm session. Your only response to someone’s initial idea is “yes.” Then, add to that idea. Build on that idea. Don’t shut it down initially. To get people to share their ideas, make it easy on them. 

Remove the fear of being immediately shut down when you share a weird idea.
