What people get wrong about teams

People get this wrong. A lot. You think you have to understand why a teammate operates a certain way.

Sometimes, you don’t.

You simply have to respect how they work, how they think, how they process information.

Especially if it’s vastly different from yours. I wish more business leaders knew this about working alongside creative people. When I say creative people, I don’t mean just designers, writers, artists.

Creativity takes many forms. It shows up in all kinds of scenarios. The project manager who gets that impossible task completed immediately? That’s also creativity.

Respect their process even if it makes you scratch your head sometimes.

There’s magic in those differences.

That magic turns into truly great work when those differences are respected.
